Wind Field II

Wind Field II explores how nature itself becomes perceptible through technology. A selection of automated audiovisual devices is installed inside AaltoSiilo, while data on wind velocity, direction and sound are collected outside the building. AI-generated models translate these atmospheric signals into the movement and flickering light of the devices.

Wind—an invisible natural force—is simultaneously transformed into data, computation and luminous movement. Imagining a deep future in which this familiar Earthly force has disappeared, the work asks what remains when direct experience of nature is replaced by its technological trace.
