Solar XI

Solar XI confronts perception itself. The work presents an artificial sun glowing in a limbo-like contemporary zone where our minds and bodies are increasingly fixated on digital screens. Using recycled tablets, synchronised images and electronic sound, the work considers how digital blue light displaces natural sunlight and reshapes experiences of time and environment.

Presented at AaltoSiilo as a VR experience, Solar XI introduces another layer of mediation: the visitor encounters a human-made sun through a technological interface placed directly between the sensing body and the virtual world.
